SRINAGAR, June 30: Minister for Agriculture Production, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today said that the road from Kalsian to Handan via Sewbha road having a lenth of 4.00 kms was taken up under State Sector (Roads) during the year 2013-14 at a cost of Rs.3.88 crore, against which expenditure of Rs 71 lakh was incurred upto ending March, 2016.
The Minister was replying to a Calling Attention Notice of Surinder Choudhary in the Upper House.
He said that the road is constructed upto fair weather status of 4.00 kms length by way of earth work in cutting. He said that there is urgent requirement for construction of small bridge of 20 meter span in km Ist on Nallah Sewbha as it is difficult for the public to cross the Nallah during rainy reason. The bridge’s estimated cost Rs.115.00 lacs and is not approved under any scheme or programme at present. He, however, said keeping in view the importance for construction of the aforementioned bridge, the Department shall endeavour to keep some provision for the purpose so that the work is initiated during the current financial year.
Hanjura informed the House that the suitable provision for laying of Water Bound Macadam (WBM) Grade-II shall also be made under Capex Budget 2016-17. He said that with the construction of this road, connectivity to the Kalsian, Mohra Sewbha, Handan, Mohra Ratta Gala and Chanwari villages will be strengthened.
