Constructing border roads in Ladakh

Construction of roads and foot tracks along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) being quite essential especially the foot tracks for Army patrol, Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) deploying its own specialised engineering wing can be termed only to speed up the connectivity projects linked to its deployment in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh which is too important to be precisely described. Need based strategic connectivity process having not remained at par with the one across the border all the past years has had the potential of vulnerability from defence point of view in this entire strategic area . Not only is it very important to make effective multi layer deployments at the forward areas along the borders with China but how robust and efficient was the connectivity infrastructure matters much.
Traditionally, looking to the peculiar expertise and dexterity needed in constructing of roads in these strategic areas, the concerned projects are handled by Border Roads Organisation (BRO), the CPWD and other agencies but a portion thereof being undertaken by the ITBP is really a challenging task. Taking up as many as 4 out of 32 roads and 2 out of 18 foot tracks in the strategic border by the ITBP means that apart from the designated agencies, the Army etc , even our para- military forces are endowed with necessary engineering and technical expertise and professionalism in the concerned field.
