JAMMU, Oct 21: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) has demanded construction of Ring Road and start of work on metro rail from Manda to Akhnoor via Janipur High Court.
In a press conference here today JWAM leader, Sunil Dimple demanded construct of flyovers at Rehari Chungi and Jewal Chowk to solve the traffic problem in Jammu city.
He urged upon the Governor Satya Pal Malik to issue directives to traffic police for not harassing traders and commuters by imposing heavy fines under MV Act.
“The Government has no traffic mobility plan for Jammu city to solve traffic problems and the accident graph is on a rise in Jammu region,” JWAM leader maintained.
He told reporters that in a meeting, traders and locals of New Plots and adjoining areas have passed a resolution to urge upon the Governor and his Advisor, K.K Sharma for the construction of four-way Ring Road from Manda to Akhnoor.
