Constitute Expert Committee to discuss modules of return with community: KPs

JAMMU, Oct 20: Kashmiri Pandit intellectuals and leaders of various community organizations have urged the Central Government to constitute an Expert Committee for conducting a full discussion with popular think tank of the community to sort out issues regarding their return and rehabilitation in the Valley.
The demand was made at a meeting of the community intellectuals and leaders organized by All State Kashmir Pandit Conference (ASKPC) at ASKPC Bhawan , here at Durga Nagar today . The meeting which was presided by president, ASKPC , advocate Ravinder Raina and conducted by Dr T.K.Bhat, its general secretary was also attended by its executive members.
Another resolution passed in the meeting said that ASKPC understands that the Internally displaced Pandits (IDPs) are integral to the broad process of normalization in J&K which is bound to take some time. It said that ASKPC also appreciated NDA Government to bring about Constitutional and administrative reforms to defeat separatists elements and their mentors and integrate J&K in the Indian main stream. The NDA Government is seriously engaged in streamlining the transition, the resolution said.
Participants during the course of deliberations raised various issues pertaining to the problems faced by the displaced community after 1989-90, the dilapidated condition of temples and shrines across the Valley forcible occupation of left over land and properties by vested elements in Kashmir, the plight of community members on economic and health grounds and the process of return and rehabilitation.
Matter regarding physical, economic and psychological aspects of Pandits on their return to the Valley were also discussed besides issues pertaining to small townships /cities within the Valley were also raised during the deliberations.
The meeting of prominent personalities of the community also decided to hold a larger conclave of the community popular think tank and preservatives of various organizations across the country in Jammu sometimes later.

Raina, Dr. Ramesh Bhat, Ramesh Hangloo, Director Radio Sharda, Ravinder Razdan, Shuban Khebri, M.K.Yogi, Pran Pandita, M.K. Jalali, M.K. Bangroo, senior journalist, B.L.Jalali, T.N.Koul president, Muthi, Chand Ji Khar TRT Nagrota, Sunil Pandita Jagti, Piyare Lal Jagti, Shardhanandan Bhat, Ashok Kangan, M.K.Koul, R.K.Wangnoo, Ravi Raina, S.K. Raina, T.K. Bhat, Deepak Moza and B.L. Handoo.
