Conspiracy to vitiate communal harmony in J&K: NC

BANIHAL, Mar 27: National Conference (NC) district president Ramban, Haji Sajjad Shaheen has claimed that a conspiracy is being hatched to vitiate communal harmony in J&K.
Addressing a rally here to welcome Congress workers including elected Sarpanchs, Panchs and dozens of prominent political workers in NC today Shaheen called upon them to become agents of change.
He said a decisive battle is needed to be fought against divisive forces, who have taken central stage by exploiting regional and religious sentiments to further their nefarious political agenda.
Shaheen claimed that NC is not a mere political party but a movement with well-defined political agenda and NC workers are epitome of sacrifice and selfless service who have withstood all challenges and proven their loyalty towards people, party and its leadership.
“Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah transferred a peoples’ movement to us in the shape of NC and we have to nurture it in the same form,” he maintained.
The NC leader exhorted the people to strengthen the party at grass-root level and maintain peace and harmony.
Prominent among those who joined NC were Sarpanchs Mohammad Rafique Khan, Hanifa Begum, Mohd Ashraf Sheikh, Ashar Saleema Begum, DDC contested candidate Alvira Rashid, Former Sarpanch Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Gulam Nabi Rather Panch, Ahmadullah Naik, Riyaz Ahmed Rather, Bashir Ahmed Panch, Jahangir Najar Panch, Abdul Gani Kumhar, Mohd Yousaf Tantrey, Sajad Ahmed Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmed Wani, Mohd Afzal Matoo and others.
