JAMMU, Nov 4: Minister for Culture, Horticulture and Housing and MLA Gandhi Nagar Raman Bhalla today asked the people to vote in his favour for prestige, dignity and self respect.
He said this while addressing public meetings in Rampura, Akali Kour Sahib area in Digiana, Nai Basti and Gangyal areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency today.
“Congress is committed to the equitable development of all three regions of J&K and in the forthcoming Assembly elections, Congress would emerge with thumping majority to form the next Government in the State to serve the people,” Minister stated.
Highlighting his achievements after being elected as MLA by the residents of Gandhi Nagar constituency, Mr Bhalla said that the constituency has witnessed large scale development in all spheres.
Electrification of number of areas in the constituency was done by getting a number of electric poles and transformers installed and upgraded, he said, adding that to overcome the water crisis in the constituency, adequate water supply was made available to the people of the area by laying pipes, installing hand pumps and number of tube wells constructed and got functional to augment the supply of drinking water in the area, Minister added.
To continue the spree of development in the Gandhi Nagar constituency, various educational institutions have been upgraded, health centres opened and community halls constructed, he further said.
“If Congress party is voted to power again, a new phase of development will start in the J&K particularly in Gandhi Nagar constituency as the party gives priority to the prosperity and development of the three regions of the State–Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh”, he asserted.
Minister said that Congress party leaders were successful in raking up important issues related to down trodden people especially Below Poverty Line (BPL) families and all these issues will be settled on priority basis after the formation of the next Government in the State.
He exhorted the party workers to make people aware about the peace, prosperity and secular policies of the Congress, so that the communal forces, who are trying to create a wedge between Hindu and Muslim communities are given befitting reply in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
