SRINAGAR, Sept 10: Reac-ting on the visit of Congress team headed by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in the State, former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today described their visit simply to befool and deceit the people of the State as they failed to settle Kashmir issue even while they were enjoying power for last more than 60 years.
He asked them what happened to the report submitted to former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh by the different working groups and interlocutors and why it was put in the dustbin. He questioned who is responsible in eroding Article 370 by abolishing the post of Prime Ministership and Sadre Riyasat in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Isn’t it the fact that Congress party in the Centre during their 60 years rule over the country deserted and discredited all pro Indian J&K leaders from legendary late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad, late Mufti Mohd Syeed, late Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma up to late Ghulam Rasool Kar, despite these leaders seeking space in India’s mainland politics?”, he questioned.
Vakil asked who is responsible in putting late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah behind bars for 22 years, and only brought back under agreement of making him the Chief Minister of the State and then without wasting time withdrew his support and humiliated him.
“Similarly, late Bakshi Ghulam Muhammad was sacked under Kamraj plan and managed his defeat in the Lok Sabha elections by an independent candidate”, Vakil said, adding even Dr Farooq Abdullah was not spared and his 14 MLA’s where purchased and thereby managed his dethroning from the post of Chief Ministers.
Vakil dared former Prime Minister to come clean on Congress party’s follies in yesteryears and its roadmap on Kashmir for the future.
