SRINAGAR, May 28: Congress candidate and general secretary, Hilal Ahmad Shah today filed nomination papers from Anantnag Assembly constituency going to polls next month.
Legislators, senior party functionaries and workers  accompanied Congress candidate to returning officer for filing the nomination papers.
On this occasion, PCC chief GA Mir addressed a huge gathering of   Party leaders and workers and urged upon them to work tirelessly to ensure the victory of Hilal Ahmad Shah.
Addressing the gathering of Party cadres, PCC chief stated that Congress Party believes in democratic process and shall continue to strengthen the democratic and other institutions benefitting people from the grass root level.
Criticizing the PDP -BJP Coalition for failing to respect the urges and aspirations of the people, PCC chief   said that due the wrong policies and utter failures, PDP was finding it difficult to face the electorates, for the fact, the promises made with people by the PDP BJP Coalition have remained unfulfilled. The misrule and wrong policies of the PDP- BJP Coalition in the State have added miseries to the people, as a result people in all the three regions have lost faith in this regime.
He said that Congress Party stands guaranteed to overall development of the State and the party shall continue to serve the people, for the fact, Congress  represents urges and aspirations of the people fully.
PCC chief appealed the voters of Anantnag to exercise their franchise in favour of Hilal Ahmad Shah and ensure his victory with a thumping majority.
Among other who spoke on the occasion included former PCC president Peerzada Mohd Syed, former Minister and senior leader Taj Mohi-Ud-Din, MLA  Haji Abdul Rashid,  Mohd Anwar Bhat,  MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani, MLA Mohd Amin Bhat,  Raman Matto, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Surinder Singh Channi and others.
