JAMMU, Oct 11: Led by AICC Incharge J&K affairs, Rajni Patil and JKPCC chief G A Mir, Congress activists today held a silent protest dharna in front of Raj Bhawan here seeking dismissal of MoS Home Ajay Mishra following involvement of his son in the Lakhimpur farmers murder.

A large no of senior Congress leaders of all ranks and its frontal wings, carrying play cards and banner seeking dismissal of Ajay Mishra, assembled in front of Raj Bhawan at 9.30 and held a strong silent dharna as part of nationwide agitational programe of the party over Lakhimpur Kheri incident.
The protestors also expressed strong resentment over selective civilian killings in Kashmir and carried pla cards seeking protection of innocents in Kashmir, putting the Centre Govt and the UT administration in the dock.
Rajni Patil, MP and Incharge JK affairs, who was here in connection with Kashmir killings, herself led the protest dharna alongwith PCC Chief G A Mir, while all senior leaders including former Ministers, Legislators, Frontal Wing heads and leaders as well Corporators joined the peaceful dharna.
Three hours dharna was part of the all India protest for seeking dismissal of Ajay Mishra in Lakhimpur farmers killing issue .They charged Modi Govt. of maintaining criminal silence over the issue following the serious incident in which son of Mishra has been arrested following Supreme Court intervention.
Later talking to reporters at the conclusion of the dharna, Patil said that the Modi Government is totally insensitive to the protests of the farmers for the ten months and now they are being crushed on roads. “The entire country is witness to this hostile attitude and approach of the BJP and it is following Supreme Court intervention that some action was initiated but why the Union MoS Home has not been sacked so far,” she questioned.
Earlier addressing the gathering, G A Mir said that this is for first time in the history that the way UP Government and police invited a person through summon to the son of the BJP minister in Modi Government in a serious case of murder. “This was questioned by the apex court also to the Government, whether this way the accused is dealt in such heinous offences like murder. Modi Government and BJP is fully exposed in the country over farmers issue,” he added.
