JAMMU : Hundreds of Congress leaders and workers today staged protest by shouting slogans against BJP government’s failure in handling beef, AIIMS, artificial lake issues.
The Congress activists led by former ministers, MLAs and senior leaders took out the rally from Brahman Sabha and marched towards BJP party office. The agitated Congressmen barged into BJPs office carrying placards and banners.
The Congress leaders alleged that the saffron party has failed in meeting the aspirations of people of Jammu.
Meanwhile, police contingent deployed near the party office restricted the movement of Congress activists and also resorted to lathicharge to disperse them.
Some of the activists were also detained. Meanwhile, Congress leaders also demonstrated outside the Governor house. (UNI)
