SRINAGAR, May 31: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today asked the Govt to come clean on the regularization issue of contingent paid employees.
JKPCC Vice Presidents Haji Abdul Rashid Dar and Mohd Anwar Bhat have drawn the attention of the Govt to the regularization issue of contingent paid employees, who are working under Education Department since many years, but have not been considered for regularization, so far.
They said these employees were discharging their services as sweepers, night guards etc since many years, adding the Govt is hardly willing to regularize their services, which is reportedly defined under SRO-308.
“Despite serving Education Department to the best of their ability, they have not been paid their salaries since 2017, which is very discouraging for them. We urged the Govt to release their salaries to ensure that their families do not face starvation,” PCC Vice Presidents said.
They further said, apart from working as Night Guards, Sweepers, they were also undertaking the cleaning of school grounds, besides taking part in Election duties, from time to time, adding Govt must consider their regularization on priority.
“The contingent paid employees fully deserve the benefits against the services they are rendering to Education Department, Govt must implement the SRO-308 service rules to ensure that these poor people are not compelled to go on strike,” PCC Vice Presidents said.
