NEW DELHI, Dec 6: Congress Parliamentary Party leader, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury called on Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today along with a delegation and discussed various issues related to the North Eastern region.
Adhir Ranjan offered inputs regarding various development initiatives for eastern part of India. He also offered suggestions regarding road connectivity and a proposal for construction of a new roadway which could shorten the distance of travel from the State of Meghalaya to Bengal by several hours and several Kilometers.
Dr Jitendra Singh took a note of the suggestions offered and said that he would ask the concerned officials to explore the feasibility of the proposal.
He also offered a resume of a number of development projects undertaken by the Government in the North Eastern States.
