NEW DELHI, Dec 16: BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and the Congress party were not aware of ground realities.
He was reacting to Ms Dikshit’s comment that “Rs 600 per month is enough for a family of five to sustain itself”.
“After high inflation, the Congress has been doing a economic ‘nakabandi’ (seize). The Chief Minister’s remarks were nothing but a joke with the common man,” Mr Naqvi told.
He alleged that the Chief Minister, the Congress party and the economic experts of the Central government were unaware of ground realities.
While speaking at the launch of the food security scheme ‘Dilli Annashree Yojna’ yesterday, Ms Dikshit said Rs 600- the cash subsidy- was sufficient for buying the monthly “dal, roti and chawal” for around five people.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi was also present on the occasion.
A monthly cash subsidy of Rs 600 will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of seniormost female members of two lakh poor families under this Delhi government programme. (UNI)
