Congress demands start of Amarnath Yatra

JAMMU, June 9: Several Congress Party leaders today demanded the J&K Government to commence holy pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji.
Congress leaders Tara Chand, GM Saroori, RS Chib, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Ch Gharu Ram, Jahangir Mir, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Subash Gupta, Ashok Dogra, KC Bhagat and many others demanded that LG Administration to come forward with a calendar/programme for holding the Amar Nath Yatra at the earliest.
All leaders in one voice described that in view of liberal attitude adopted by the Administration to ease out the commercial activities after availing the SOPs/protocols of COVID-19, pilgrims should be permitted to have darshan of the Holy Cave of Mahadev. This will definitely boost the economic activities to some extent in the entire UT of Jammu and Kashmir, they added.
They said in the year 2019, the Yatra was snapped by the Government in view of abrogation of Article 370 and in the year 2020, COVID-19 disturbed the Yatra. “Now, this year the LG Administration and MHA should find out the ways and means to start the Yatra at the earliest, for at least 20-25 days so that survival is made possible for those affiliated with the Yatra.
