JAMMU, Dec 7: A delegation of Sikhs today expressed gratitude to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for taking number of decisions in favour of community and practicing Sabka Saath Sabka Vishwas without any prejudice and discrimination.
Calling on senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta here, today members of delegation said that unlike the Congress regime which never missed a chance to gain political dividends by way of playing divisive card and creating fissures among different communities to ensure vote bank the BJP has earned popularity among all communities especially Sikhs by doing actual work on ground and through fair play.
They said that the biggest instance which has won the hearts of Sikhs is BJP’s resolve to put behind bars the culprits of 1984 Sikh riots, who were roaming scot-free after committing the deadliest massacre ever seen in the history of the country.
They said despite passing of decades and Congress sitting at helm not a single person was sentenced for the heinous crime that took place far and wide in 1984 but Narendra Modi after coming into power ensured conviction of one of the main conspirators Sajjan Kumar, the so called Congress stalwart, who is behind bars. “Justice was delivered to families of the victims,” the delegation said adding that Home Minister, Amit Shah has also assured in many public rallies that those involved (in the riots) and whether they are in Jabalpur, Kanpur or Delhi will be sent to jail.
The delegation said that bluff of Congress claiming to be secular has been exposed time and again and the scariest 1984’ riots is the blot at the face of this party which brazenly was involved in homicide of thousands of men, women and children. The delegation extended wholehearted support to BJP and assured that the enthusiasm shown towards resolving Sikh community’s issues by its leaders especially in J&K shall be reciprocated completely and in the remaining phases of DDC elections and other upcoming polls the votes of Sikhs will be cast in favour of BJP.
After listening to the delegation, Kavinder assured the delegation that all their remaining problems and issues will be taken up as early as possible. He said that people should rest assure that BJP never discriminates between communities. He said that it is time to shun Congress, NC and PDP as these parties have already played spoil sport and dented the image of erstwhile State of J&K by betraying people continuously for over 70 years.
