Congress alone proved credentials of being pro-development: Sharma

Billawar, Dec 7: Minister of State for Finance, Fisheries Cooperative, and ARI and Congress candidate from Billawar Constituency Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today sought a decisive mandate from the people of the Billawar constituency for his Congress party in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
While addressing series of election meetings in Chinji Makwal, Dharamkote, Chhallan, Mangloor and Kandi areas of the Billawar constituency, he asserted it is the Congress alone which has proved credentials of being pro-development and that it alone can meet the expectations of the flood-ravaged people. Manohar Lal said for better future of the youth and to revive an era of prosperity, development and fast-track infrastructure building, the people should allow the Congress an opportunity to lead the State Government.
Urging the people to elect a Government which is ‘capable’, ‘determined’ and ‘time-tested’ to undertake the reconstruction and rehabilitation exercise as also live up to the expectations of the people, Manohar Lal said that people of the State can rewrite their destiny by giving a decisive mandate in favour of the Congress Party.
Recalling the thrust laid on speedy and time-bound execution of developmental projects to set the State on the path of prosperity and progress, Manohar Lal said it is the Congress which scripted a new chapter of development-oriented governance in the State.
He said that his party has given many popular and futuristic programmes for the upliftment of weaker sections and welfare of rural masses like MGNREGA, Indira Awas Youjna, Sarv Shiksha Abhiyaan, National Rural Health Mission, Mid Day Meal etc. He asserted that the people of the country in large numbers have been benefited by implementation of these programmes.
