VIJAYPUR, May 10: Up in arms against the new recruitment policy of the PDP-BJP coalition Government and shifting of proposed AIIMS from Jammu to Kashmir, Congress activists held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
The protest demonstration was organized under the leadership of senior Congress leader Arun Sharma, who strongly criticized the State Government for its alleged anti-youth, anti-people and anti-Jammu policies. A number of educated unemployed youth also took part in the protest and raised slogans against the State Government.
While addressing the protesters, Arun Sharma said that the AIIMS Hospital was sanctioned for Jammu region but the Government is planning it for Kashmir. The BJP ministers and its leaders have surrendered before the PDP, which is dictating terms, he alleged and announced that the Congress would expose BJP leaders before people of Jammu.
Claiming that the coalition Government has failed on all fronts, Arun said that it was not working on the Common Minimum Program. He also highlighted several other issues such as delay in compensation to rain hit farmers, encroachment of Forest land in Samba and inadequate supply of drinking water as well as power in the district.
The protest demonstration was also addressed by some other leaders of the Congress party, who vowed to strengthen the party at grass root level.
