LEH, Jan 13: Ladakh Police have registered FIR in Police Station Leh against Congress youth president & Councilor Tundup Nurbu Cheetha submitting forged birth certificate during election nomination process.
“He and Congress Party have not only cheated the Election Authorities by furnishing forged document to the Returning Officer but also cheated every voter of the constituency,” Ladakh MF Janyang Tsering Namgyal tweeted.
“Today the lies, dishonesty, hypocrisy and fraud on which Indian National Congress stands got publicly exposed. It is a matter of shame for Indian National Congress and it’s Councillor Tundup Nurboo (Cheetha) of Phyang Constituency that he forged his Birth Certificate in nomination process for the 6th LAHDC Leh elections in 2020,” Nilza Angmo Hashur said.
“However, after various RTIs it is found that actual date of birth of Tundup Nurboo (Cheetha) S/o Chhering Dorje from Fulung Mohala (Phayang, Leh) is 22-11-1995 and same is also mentioned on his Aadhaar Card and Class 10th CBSE marksheet. According to this, his age on the date of filing nominations for 6th LAHDC Leh election is 24 years only. This clearly violates The Representation of Peoples Act 1951 and various provisions of Criminal Procedure.,” Hashur said.
