KATRA/LEH, Sept 26: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Incharge, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajni Patil (MP) today claimed that Congress Party will sweep the upcoming Assembly elections in J&K as people are fed-up of series of lies and false promises made by the BJP leadership.
Speaking at a party function in the holy township of Katra Mata Vaidhnodevi today, Patil said since BJP took over in 2014, the miseries of the people of Jammu and Kashmir have increased manifold. She said all the promises made to the people prior to the Assembly elections of 2014 remained unfulfilled.
“More than eight years have passed, but they (BJP) failed to fulfill any of the promises, be it the problems faced by youth, problems of the farmers, or the problems of refugees and Kashmiri Pandits, this Government has done nothing to address those problems. The BJP can never come to power in J&K again,” she claimed.
Launching attack on Narendra Modi-led NDA Government at the Centre, Patil said that since the change of guard happened in New Delhi, the prices of essential commodities have increased manifold. She claimed that after mirror shown to BJP in DDC elections where it could win only 75 out of 280 seats, it is day dreaming and befooling people and BJP can never come to power in J&K again.
She asked the party cadre to be united and disseminate information among the masses with regard to directionless policies of the BJP Government. She said unlike BJP Government, the Congress has a long history of bringing in colossal development without demeaning the Constitutional institutions. She asked the cadre to convince the people that it is only the Congress party which can tackle unemployment, poverty and lies of BJP leadership on ground because the BJP government has been exposed badly on all issues and problems, as it has only one expertise and that is of being rhetoric.

Both the BJP-led Governments had failed to address serious problems like poverty, inequality, price rise, and unemployment, which had made life miserable for the common man, the former Minister said. He added that the price hike in essential items have pushed the people to the wall. Despite the failure of the Centre Government to contain the price hike, the Prime Minister is making false claims about the development of the country, but the people have realized that the nation has suffered immensely on every count during more than eight years rule of BJP Government.
