‘BJP can never come to power in J&K again’

KATRA/LEH, Sept 26: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Incharge, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajni Patil (MP) today claimed that Congress Party will sweep the upcoming Assembly elections in J&K as people are fed-up of series of lies and false promises made by the BJP leadership.
Speaking at a party function in the holy township of Katra Mata Vaidhnodevi today, Patil said since BJP took over in 2014, the miseries of the people of Jammu and Kashmir have increased manifold. She said all the promises made to the people prior to the Assembly elections of 2014 remained unfulfilled.
“More than eight years have passed, but they (BJP) failed to fulfill any of the promises, be it the problems faced by youth, problems of the farmers, or the problems of refugees and Kashmiri Pandits, this Government has done nothing to address those problems. The BJP can never come to power in J&K again,” she claimed.
Launching attack on Narendra Modi-led NDA Government at the Centre, Patil said that since the change of guard happened in New Delhi, the prices of essential commodities have increased manifold. She claimed that after mirror shown to BJP in DDC elections where it could win only 75 out of 280 seats, it is day dreaming and befooling people and BJP can never come to power in J&K again.
She asked the party cadre to be united and disseminate information among the masses with regard to directionless policies of the BJP Government. She said unlike BJP Government, the Congress has a long history of bringing in colossal development without demeaning the Constitutional institutions. She asked the cadre to convince the people that it is only the Congress party which can tackle unemployment, poverty and lies of BJP leadership on ground because the BJP government has been exposed badly on all issues and problems, as it has only one expertise and that is of being rhetoric.
On this occasion, scores of political workers embraced Congress party. The main face, who joined Congress today and would help in giving a strong contest to other political parties in the constituency was of renowned social activist Bhupinder Singh, who along with scores of people joined Congress with a mission to make it a force to reckon with.
Vikar Rasool Wani also welcomed Bhupinder Singh and his supporters in the Congress party and expressed confidence that his entry will strengthen the party at grassroots level. Wani asked the party cadre to gear up for the ensuing Assembly polls as the contest is tough because the opposite sides are relying on lies and deception.
Both the BJP-led Governments had failed to address serious problems like poverty, inequality, price rise, and unemployment, which had made life miserable for the common man, the former Minister said. He added that the price hike in essential items have pushed the people to the wall. Despite the failure of the Centre Government to contain the price hike, the Prime Minister is making false claims about the development of the country, but the people have realized that the nation has suffered immensely on every count during more than eight years rule of BJP Government.
Working president Raman Bhalla took a swipe at the BJP Government, asking whether the situation has become normal in J&K after their blunders claiming that life of J&K people will be revolutionized with their experiments even after the passage of nearly three years. He accused the Government of indulging in self-congratulatory rhetoric over Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the UT Government has failed on all fronts in providing relief to the common people.
Senior PCC leader Mula Ram and JKPYC chief, Uday Bhanu Chib also spoke on the occasion.

Reports from Leh said that AICC Incharge J&K and Ladakh, Rajni Patil addressed daylong party workers convention at Leh City on Sunday. Territorial Congress Committee Ladakh (TCCL) president, Nawang Rigzin Jora, DCC Leh president Rigzin Namgail, Councilors, former Councilors, senior Congress leaders and workers were present in the daylong convention.
The speakers applauded the Congress leaders for winning the recent bye- election and exhorted the workers to work hard to strengthen the party from grassroots level.
Patil assured the workers that she will raise all important issues of Ladakh in the Rajya Sabha. She also added that Ladakh deserves 6th Schedule and she assured the gathering to raise the 6th schedule demand for Ladakh. She added that public representative MP Ladakh doesn’t looks like MP of Ladakh from any angle but he is working like MP of BJP party only.
Expressing her concern on border issue she added that she is worried about border issue after getting feedback from public at Leh. She also said that Agnipath schemes has worsen the unemployment crisis in the country. She assured that she will plan Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Ladakh next summer.
The speakers highlighted issue of Ladakh such as constitutional safeguards in the form of 6th Schedule, job security, land security, environmental protection, safeguarding Ladakh’s unique identity, border incursion, inflation etc.
