JAMMU, Dec 18: The recent violent protests in certain educational institutions and particularly in Delhi and West Bengal as an aftermath of the CAA are the clear handwork of Congress, TMC and Leftists, said Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, BJP State Spokesperson on Kashmir Affairs. He was addressing a meeting of the intellectuals, senior citizens and students at Jammu today.
Chrungoo maintained that the violent protests are the manifestation of defeat and desperateness of those elements who have been consistently defeated by BJP/NDA first in the general elections, then in voting in the Parliament. The elections were fought on the respective manifestos of the political parties and thus the political parties are bound to implement their agenda post elections. The BJP/NDA has got an overwhelming majority in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha has always supported the Government proposals, resolutions and bills with thumping majority.
The CAA and NRC are listed in the agenda and policy statements of the BJP besides abrogation of Art370 and Art35A. In case the opposition is determined to disturb peace and create anarchy with a pattern on the roads and streets, the law will take it’s own course. There is no question of surrender of the State before the orchestrated “riots taken as rights” by the hooligans and anarchists.
Elements who have been provoking the Muslim community and some student bodies in the name of opposition to the so-called discrimination in the Bill need to know that the Bill doesn’t propose disqualification of anyone from the citizenship of India. It is simply an accommodation to the minority community of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh who are the victims of religious genocide and persecution in those countries for the last seven decades.
Anyone and everyone who belong to the people of the Indian origin, and in particular those belonging to the Hindu fraternity living anywhere in the world treat India as their mother country and in case of any difficult situation, they look up to India. It is the paramount duty of the Indian nation and the Indian State to accommodate all such people as the citizens of India in case such people crave for it. Chrungoo said, “we as a responsible nation cannot allow Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, Parsis who have been exterminated from these countries to rot in India”.
