SRINAGAR,  Mar 7: Strongly condemning use of force on NHM workers, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC)  president GA Mir has expressed serious concern over the way State Govt is treating its own employees.
In a press statement issued here PCC chief asked the Govt to stop using force and other type of  oppressive measures  on NHM workers in order to hide its failures. He  termed the demands of NHM workers as just and genuine and sought  their resolution, at the earliest.
“Congress Party fully supports NHM workers demand and emphasizes that State Govt must address the genuine issues of workers. Govt must  initiate the process of regularization of NHM workers with the Central Govt and ensure that the present crisis doesn’t affect NHM scheme in any way,” Mir said.
Extending full support to agitating NHM workers,  Mir  lashed out at State Administration for using brutal force on the workers and urged upon the Govt to reach out to NHM workers for resolution of their genuine demand in a fair manner. He said Govt has utterly failed to address the genuine concerns of the agitating employees, rather than finding solution to their problems. The Govt is using brute force in order to hide its failures, he added.
Congress leader further said that pressure tactics or raining lathis on workers shall not serve any purpose, rather it will affect the functioning of   NHM Scheme, besides adversely affecting the  patient care in the State, which should not happen at any cost, so Govt should hold direct talks with NHM workers to address their genuine issues.
Mir further said that use of force on employees is unacceptable, condemnable and he urged upon the Govt to start the process of reconciliation with the agitating employees be it the issue of casual labours of PHE Deptt or Daily Wagers working in different departments, who are also agitating  against the lackadaisical approach being  adopted by the Govt about their welfare.
