JAMMU, July 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Congress today joined the nationwide call of the party to hold protest against BJP led Central Govt over the issue of Rajasthan and termed it as continued interference in the constitutional scheme of things and settled traditions, to topple the elected Governments.

The prominent Congress leaders held a simple protest in Jammu as well as in Srinagar City to join the nationwide call of the party, while following the guidelines as required.
Led by JKPCC chief GA Mir senior leaders held a symbolic protest outside Congress headquarters Jammu, carrying play cards ” Save Democracy “, ” Save Constitution- Save Nation” and raised slogans against BJP and Centre Govt over the attempts to topple duly elected Rajasthan Govt and demanded that the house be summoned to prove majority in the Assembly.
Speaking to media persons Mir said that the BJP has been working on the agenda of `Opposition Mukt Bharat’, especially `Congress Mukt Bharat’, as the elected Governments are being toppled, one after another, by misuse of power by the Central Govt. He said that it is insult of the mandate of the people and against all Constitutional and democratic norms. BJP is indulging in unprincipled politics and misusing power and influencing the office of Governor. Urging the people to rise and stands up for safeguarding constitution and saving democracy, Mir termed these tactics of BJP as undemocratic and unconstitutional and against the mandate of the people and against all democratic norms.
Former minister PCC vice president Raman Bhalla, chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, senior leaders Manmohan Singh, Arvinder Singh Micky, Gurbachan Kumari Rana, Th Balbir Singh, KL Gupta, Sobat Ali, Ritu Choudhary, Sain Abdul Rshid, Subash Bhagat, Niraj Gupta, Varinder Manhas and others also joined the protest.
Similar protest was held at Srinagar party office at Maulana Azad Road. The party workers were raising slogans against the BJP and Central Govt. They criticized strongly the undemocratic and unconstitutional tactics of BJP led Central Govt to topple the elected governments in the states led by Congress party. They termed it as danger to the Constitution of the country and murder of democracy.
Senior leaders Abdul Ghani Khan, Shameema, Mir Ruvais, Ghulam Mohd Sheikh, Amir Rasool, Basharat Bin Qadir, Raja Misger, Zulfqar Qureshi, Yousf Sultan were the prominent in the protest.
