Cong protests against toppling of its Govts in U’khand, Arunachal

NEW DELHI: Issue of alleged toppling of elected governments in non BJP ruled states, including Uttarakhand, figured in the Lok Sabha today with the Opposition Congress trying to lodge its protest over the attitude of the Centre.
As Speaker Sumitra Mahajan tried to proceed to Question Hour agenda, Congress Leader M Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue under Business rule 56. Mr Kharge could read only a few lines from his statement when Ms Mahajan advised him to make his point during Zero Hour, then she would allow him to speak over the issue.
Mr Kharge and almost half a dozen of his party colleagues insisted on taking up the issue instantly seeing its importance.
Ms Mahajan, however, succeeded in persuading the Members for taking up the issue after the Question Hour. “I shall allow you all”, she said. (AGENCIES)
