Cong protests against supply of wheat

JAMMU, Apr 5:  Congress workers led by PCC vice president Kanta Bhan,  today  held protest at Sarwal Chowk against  the supply of  wheat instead of Atta at the Government depots in Jammu city.
A large number of Congress activists assembled at Sarwal Chowk, carrying banners in their hands  amidst chanting  of slogans against Govt  to mark their protest.
Speaking on the occasion, Congress leader said that despite the assurance by the  Director CAPD,  GS Chib that in Urban area, Department will supply Atta, the CAPD trucks were seen dropping wheat at Sarwal ration depots last evening. The people were waiting for the Atta  and they refused to lift the food grains.
She said that  the people of the area are protesting against the Govt for its failure to ensure supply of Atta.  Even they have not received sugar for the last more than three months now. She also criticized the Govt for reducing scale of  sugar from 750 gms to  500 gms per soul.
Mrs Bhan urged upon the Govt to immediately restore the supply of Atta at ration depots  otherwise people in large number would launch a mass movement against Government.
