JAMMU, Aug 10: Sarpanch Bharana Rajesh Sharma and NPP Block Secretary Majalta Kewal Sharma today refuted the allegations leveled by RS Pathania against Panthers Party MLA from Ramnagar and termed his outbursts as mischievous manifestations of a frustrated mind.
In a statement, they said that R S Pathania is the real culprit as he attacked them along with two others in Paldai area of Majalta after hitting their vehicle from behind. They added that Pathania had for the last few years pressuring them to join Congress party whose offer had been declined by them.
Subsequently, they said, Pathania resorted to their perpetual harassment, creating disputes and medaling in their business affairs and making personal attacks on their family members. They said that despite gravest provocation and offensive launches by Pathania they did not retaliate. They said that it was August 1 that Pathania chased and intercepted their vehicle and attacked them for which FIR against him had been lodged in Police Station Majalta.
Rajesh Sharma said that after the attack on him, he was referred to GMC on August 1 and the same night along with around 15 goons attacked him again in GMC Jammu and FIR in this regard was registered at GMC Police Post.
Dismissing the allegation of Pathania against MLA Ramnagar Harshdev Singh, Sharma said that an attempt was being made to give political colour to a dispute between two rival groups of individuals. He said that out of sheer frustration and unable to compete by playing healthy politics, Pathania was resorted to dirty politicking.
Sharma further demanded an enquiry into hooliganism and vandalism crated by Pathania with the help of hired goons of Jammu, who stormed Majalta on August 5 and created terror in the area by brandishing iron rods, sticks and weapons. He regretted that the police have failed to act despite repeated protests by the people of Majalta.
