In a meeting of senior leaders and prominent party workers held at Jammu, JKPCC president G A Mir and working president Raman Bhalla led the Congress leaders to pay floral tribute to first Prime Minister of India, terming him as creator of Modern of India.

“Pandit Ji had special bond with the Kashmir as he was born in Kashmiri Brahman family to a renowned lawyer and leader of the Indian Independence movement Late Moti Lal Nehru, who was a one of the prominent associates of Mahatma Gandhi, Mir said.
“ Nehru founded the independence for India League and became it’s general secretary then he was elected as president of the Lahore Session of the Indian National Congress in 1929, in this session the complete goal for the independence of India was adopted,” he added.
Senior leader Raman Bhalla also spoke on the occasion and recalled the sacrifices and contributions of Pt Nehru for the cause of the country and Congress Party.

On this occasion, Congress leaders slammed those who criticize Pt Jawaharlal Nehru aiming to hide their failures under the garb of baseless and fictitious criticism. Those who are not aware about the great contributions and selfless services rendered by Pt Nehru to Nation must study and get inspired by the life of First Prime Minister of India.
“Nehru was a revolutionary leader, who worked very hard to make India a fast developing and powerful country in the world. The best way to pay to departed leader is to fight the divisive forces and strengthen the unity and harmony in the country,” leaders said.
