‘BJP emerges party of masses in J&K’
JAMMU, Oct 21: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today said that the people of the State deserve all praises who despite the terrorist threat, poll boycott calls and strikes participated in the Urban Local Body (ULB) elections enmass the results of which were declared yesterday and made them a big success.
BJP has noted that the results have clearly demonstrated that party has struck cord with the voters and retained the overwhelming support the people of the State have been giving the party particularly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi took over and dominated the national political horizon as undisputed leader of the country, BJP State president and MLA Nowshera, Ravinder Raina told reporters here, today, along with, party general secretary, Yudhvir Sethi, its chief spokesperson of the State, Sunil Sethi and spokesperson, RS Pathania. The public of J&K has voted enmass in favour of BJP owing to the developmental policies of its leadership he added.
Raina said that contrary to propaganda unleashed by vested elements BJP has proved to be party of the people of the State. It was reflected by unprecedented electoral victory of the party in Jammu province and also making substantial political in roads in Kashmir by winning 106 seats, he added.
He said the impact of Rassana issue on the party support base has proved to be fake as party got resounding victory in epi-centre of Rassana unrest Hiranagar. Similarly the party has huge political victory in whole of District Kathua, he added.
He said that with such large number of civic bodies under control of the party, ground is set for party to make huge political impact in coming Parliamentary elections as also next Assembly poll. He said that BJP will realise it’s target of forming next Government in J and K on its own in view of massive support it enjoyed from the people across all regions.
Raina said that political parties who boycotted elections stood exposed before public as they were fearful of losing miserably. Their boycott had no impact in Jammu province and despite threat and intimidation the elections were peaceful in Kashmir Valley, he added.
He said, while in Jammu the party will have its own Mayor, in Kashmir, where the party has emerged with solid figures, also the Mayor could be with support of BJP only.
He said that in some areas like Leh, Ladakh the results are not good for the party and he has constituted a team of two senior leaders who will go there and submit their reports about reasons for bad electoral results for those regions.
He said many independent candidates who have won elections are in fact party rebels and had only shared the party votes. Many of them have already returned to party fold and many more are approaching us, as they are all from same ideology. He said party will work for overall development of the State. He said people have rejected the other political parties in fray including Congress.
