JAMMU, Aug 18: State unit of BJP while criticizing the resolution adopted in the meeting of the State political parties and leaders organized by Omar Abdullah and attended by several National Conference and Congress leaders, CPI(M) leader Mohd Yousuf Tarigami, some independent MLAs, blamed these leaders for fishing in the troubled water.
Reacting to the resolution adopted in the said meeting, State spokesperson of the BJP, Prof Virender Gupta said that none of these leaders played any effective role in pacifying the situation; instead they remain engaged in instigating the people and aggravating the prevailing situation and added that Omar Abdullah’s tweets on daily basis gave support to the ongoing agitation led by the extremists and terrorist groups at the behest of Pakistan. He said that as it is obvious from the statements of Gulam Nabi Azad and P Chidambaram, Congress party is acting behind the scene, in organizing the present meeting to take the benefit of the existing situation and destabilize the PDP-BJP Coalition Government in the State.
Prof Gupta criticised Omar Abdullah for absolving Pakistan and down playing its role in the creation of present situation, whereas it is known fact that Pakistan and terrorist groups operating from Pak soil are mainly responsible for the present situation in the Valley. He added that Omar must have the knowledge that most of the terrorists killed in J&K recently belonged to Pakistan and must be aware of the admission statements of Pak terrorists captured by the Indian security forces and asked Omar to explain the reason for denial of truth and for his blatant lie.
The BJP spokesperson added that probably Omar Abdullah has too short memory that is why he has forgotten the efforts of Government of India to retrieve the Valley from the flood calamity, and assistance of 80 thousand crore for the development activities. He asked Omar that how many enquiries were conducted on outbreak of violence after 1990, 2008 and 2010 when NC and Congress were in power. Prof Gupta whole heartily supported the Prime Minister’s statement in the meeting of the leaders of political parties and during his address on 15th August to the Nation, raising the issue of PoJK, including Gilgit and that of Balochistan.
