KATHUA, June 27: Protesting against the steep hike in rail fair and freight charges, the Congress activists today forcefully stopped the Chennai Express at Govindsar Railway Station near here which was on its way to Jammu.
Hundreds of Congress activists assembled at Railway Station shouting anti NDA and BJP slogans protested on Railway track and disrupted the train movement for half an hour.
The protestors criticized the NDA Government led by Narendra Modi and termed the decision of hike in train prices and prices of other consumer items as anti people. They demanded immediate roll back of the same failing which the Congress Party will resort to nation-wide agitation.
Taking flags and banners in their hands the protestors said that BJP which was talking about return of good days has come into its true colours now and the common man can’t expect any fair deal from the party as its policies are pro-rich and anti poor.
They wanted to know what happened to the promises and commitments made by Mr Modi during his poll rallies.
The protest was led by Naresh Sharma, Secretary PCC.
