Cong to make Govt accountable, answerable to people: PCC

SRINAGAR, May 26: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC)  has said that it will make PDP- BJP Coalition Government accountable, answerable and responsive to the issues concerning people. The Party shall continue to expose the wrong policies, failures of the Government   and won’t allow it  to ignore the needs of the people.
Addressing day long conference of active members of the Party of Dooru -Shahbad, PCC chief GA Mir has said that Congress shall fight for resolution of the issues concerning people and seek fulfillment of the promises made by PDP and BJP during election campaign.
Castigating the Coalition Govt for failing to address urges and aspirations of the people PCC chief said that the promises made by PDP- BJP with the people have fallen flat, as a result, people in all the three regions feel betrayed and have started realizing   that their votes have gone waste.
Stating that people have lost faith in present regime due to anti- people polices, PCC chief said that Congress being an effective and vibrant opposition shall make the Government accountable and answerable to the people and shall  also use the opportunity of the current session to highlight the anti-people policies and failures of the PDP- BJP Coalition in both the houses.
Addressing the party activists former Minister and senior vice president of PCC Sham Lal Sharma accused BJP and PDP for being ignorant and insensitive about the urges and aspiration of the people.    He said people in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh have realized that it is the Congress Party alone which is capable of serving and addressing the urges and aspirations of the people. He felt confident that the day is not far when BJP in Jammu and PDP in Kashmir will be wiped out completely due to their anti-people and wrong policies.
Blaming Coalition Govt for misrule and anti-people policies, CLP Leader Nawang Rigzin Jora hit out at   Coalition Govt for being unresponsive to the needs of people, particularly, the people living in far flung areas of the State. He said that Congress shall expose the failures of the Govt in both the houses.
Jugal Kishore Sharma MLC and Leader of the Party in Upper House and former minister Taj Mohi-ud-din expressed concern over the present political scenario obtaining due to the wrong policies of the Coalition Govt in the State. They said that Congress believes in serving the people and will continue to work for equitable development of all the three regions.
MLA Sopore Haji Abdul Rashid, MLA Mohd Amin Bhat, MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani, senior leaders Farooq Andrabi, Rajnish Sharma (Mian) and  Manmohan Singh also addressed the conference.
