JAMMU, Sept 23: Senior vice president JKPCC and former Minister Sham Lal Sharma along with Raman Bhalla vice president JKPCC, Manjeet Singh general secretary JKPCC and Shashi Sharma secretary JKPCC visited the house of martyrs of Uri encounter to express their deep condolences to the grieved families of Subedar Karnail Singh, R/o Bishnah and Havildar Ravi Paul,R/o Samba and said that the nation in general and Jammu in particular feels proud on the valour of these brave hearts.
Sham Lal Sharma expressed concern over non payment of any type of ex-gratia to the families of these martyrs whereas other martyrs of this incident have been suitably compensated by their respective States.
Sham Lal urged the BJP-PDP Government which is expressing only lip sympathy to the martyrs families to pay minimum of Rs 25-30 lakh to them.
Former Minister said that we should adopt a tough posture against the Pakistan by giving it befitting reply to take avenge of Uri incident.
He also condemned the speech of PM of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif in UNGA in which he glorified the dreaded militant Burhan Wani who was responsible for killings of various innocent people in the Valley.
He said that prior to 2014 elections, Narendra Modi consistently counselled Congress government to ‘stop writing love letters to Pakistan’. He further said that Modi used to often quoted rhetoric of ’56 inches chest’ as also ‘bringing 10 heads back in exchange of one’ ,besides asking the Government to ‘answer Pakistan in the language they understand’.
Sham Sharma alleged that after becoming PM Narendra Modi has indulged in ‘Saree-Shawl’diplomacy to impromptu visits to Pakistan to attend wedding celebrations and birthday parties along with Nawaz Sharif. Modi Government’s Pakistan policy is based on wholesale confusion rather the pragmatic and decisive cohesion.
Condemning the increased terror attacks, Sham said that Narendra Modi led NDA Government has failed to ensure the safety of Indian soldiers and countrymen after coming to power.
“If our soldiers die like this on the border, a day will not be far when mothers will stop their sons from joining the Army” he said.
Meanwhile, former MLA and senior BJP leader Ashwani Sharma who also visited the martyr’s family to express his sympathies with them has demanded that Government should pay compensation to these families at an earliest.
He said that State Government has no policy for paying compensation to martyrs like other states of country. The jawans of Army and security forces who lay down their lives for the nation and make the lives of countrymen secure deserve a special treatment and the J&K should also pay the compensation at par with other States.
