Cong leaders project issues of Kandi areas of Billawar

KATHUA, Aug 9: Taking a dig at State as well Central Govt for their failure to address issues of the public, PCC general secretary and former minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said that both Governments have left the public high and dry.
Addressing public meeting at village Sallan in district Kathua today, Dr Sharma said that  public is facing severe problems due to non availability of drinking water, adequate power supply and ration. He said even the health services were not adequate in the area.
Dr Manohar Lal while expressing his views said that both the Governments, at Centre as well in the State have failed to fulfill the demands of the people. Castigating PDP and BJP, Dr Sharma said that for the lust of power, both the parties had formed Government. He alleged that Govt has totally ignored the Kandi belt of Kathua.
Subash Gupta, DCC president Kathua held PDP-BJP Coalition Government responsible for the hardships of the people of State. He said that both political parties are self-centered and Congress is the only secular party. “Sooner the public would feel the effects of these political parties and Congress would again restore its position”, he added.
He further said that it is due to the lackadaisical attitude of Government that Shri Amarnath yatra had badly affected this year. The unrest in Kashmir for the last one month had badly affected the social and economic atmosphere of the State.
Mr Gupta while giving reference of damages to protection bandh constructed across Ujh river demanded immediate repair.and compensation to the farmers whose crop has been damaged.
Congress Committee Kandi Area, Billawar had organised the meeting of party activists wherein District Congress Committee president Kathua and former MLC Subash Chander Gupta presided over. Dr Manohar Lal was chief guest on the occasion.
