JAMMU, Feb 9: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today said that Congress Party is a spent force and whosoever will rely on its credibility will have to face chagrin and decimation.
The senior BJP leader is currently on a tour to Punjab State in connection with campaigning of party leadership for ongoing MCD polls. He addressed a series of rallies at Pathankot, Dina Nagar, Gurdaspur and Batala.
The senior BJP leader said that Congress is a sinking ship which will go down taking along all those who somehow came along with that party which is responsible for all the political mis-happenings in the country since its inception more than a century ago. He said that it is time for the people to watch and compare without any prejudice that what BJP has in offing for them as Congress has not given them anything except deception.
Giving instances where BJP overtook Congress regimes, Kavinder said that party’s prolific policies and people centric decisions are behind its continued ascendency and straying away will result in more harm to people of Punjab rather than to the BJP. He said that dedication of BJP leaders and their humility over the years has made BJP a vibrant force to reckon with and this achievement of party can only bring change in the society if people will pose confidence into its policies. Unlike Congress which remained authoritative for most of the time and never bothered to spend even a jiffy for the concern of people of Punjab, BJP has tried to win hearts of the people by working at grass roots level.
The senior BJP leader made it clear that BJP’s victory in the MCD polls is victory of the people and on the other side if Congress by hook or crook gets an edge, it will for the advantage of one or at the most two families. He said that BJP’s painstaking journey to oust Congress in many states relied on strengthening party at its roots with common man believing on its people-centric missionary policies.
On the occasion Kavinder was presented a portrait of God as honour to him by the people of the area.
