SHAJAPUR (MP), Mar 5: Erstwhile Congress President Rahul Gandhi averred on Tuesday that peasants would be provided a Minimum Support Price guarantee as soon as his party comes to power at the Centre.
Addressing a gathering in this district as part of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, the visiting leader raised the caste census issue again and said, “About 90 per cent of the country’s population comprises the backward, dalits, tribes and minorities.
Not a single individual from these categories will be found in the management of major companies. This social injustice is being perpetrated in almost every institution. A caste census shall be a revolutionary measure against societal iniquity.”
Turning his gun on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi said that the former desires that people remain glued to their cellular phones the entire day, chant Jai Shriram and die of starvation.
In the context of question papers leakage, he targeted Bharatiya Janata Party dispensations by saying, “Indigent children toil for years but when they reach the examination centre, well-heeled children already have the question paper on their mobiles. Today, all roads are closed for the offspring of the impoverished.” (UNI)
