Cong for women empowerment: Pawar

SRINAGAR, May 10: Pradesh Mahila Congress  president Indu Pawar today said that Congress was committed for women empowerment.
Addressing a meeting of women workers of the party at Palpura,  Noorbagh here today, Pawar said that Congress Party ensured reservation of women in Panchayats, Local Bodies elections. Due to the efforts of Congress Party, the literacy level among women has gone up in the State. Today the women are excelling in all the fields and even taking active part in political activities.
Referring to the  divisive role of  BJP and other parties,  the Congress leader said that Congress always worked for unity and brotherhood among all the communities and people of different faiths and belief. Congress always promoted secularism and ensured equal development   in all the regions.  She demanded that State Govt should focus on  solving problems of the people.
Congress leader Imtiaz Khan  and Block president, Mougli also spoke on the occasion.
