JAMMU, Dec 5: Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress has extended full support to the cause of agitating lawyers and asked the Government not to sit on prestige on the genuine issues raised by the lawyers community in the interest of general public.
Reiterating support of the Congress party to the agitation launched by the Bar Association Jammu, JKPCC chief spokesman Ravinder Sharma asked the Government not to sit on prestige and avoid confrontationist approach over the genuine issues raised by the lawyers community for the general interests of the public at large.
He said the time tested system of registration of documents by Judicial officers should be allowed to continue and Government should roll back its decision. The other demand against any proposal for shifting of High Court Complex should also quite genuine and any such move should be shelved to resolve the issues.
Sharma said lawyers community led by Bar Association Jammu has always stood for the rights and just cause of people and fought for their interests at the cost of their own interests and the Government should appreciate their concerns for the general public. Any further delay in conceding their demands would only prolong the agitation and the works in Courts would continue to suffer, for which the Government would be responsible.
