JAMMU, Apr 16: Reacting sharply to the deteriorating situation in Kashmir Valley Prof. Bhim Singh, chief patron of National Panthers Party accused the political leadership at Centre and the State for demonizing the Kashmiries only to stir communal conflict to generate vote bank.
Some Kashmir-based political parties have been trying to address the people of Kashmir Valley only to raise their vote banks whether it is release of some prisoners or raising Pak slogans with Jamat flags.
He said media is projecting Jamat’s flag as Pakistani flag which is totally misleading.
He said some other political parties to raise their political hopes of return to power have been talking of further detentions, arrests or trials of some offenders only to blackmail the Central leadership. If detentions, arrests or public trials could restore democracy and peace in the State then there would have been no stir/unrest after the arrest, detention and public trial of the then Wazir-e-Azam of J&K, namely, Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah. Those who accused Nehru as ‘culprits’ of peace in the Valley should understand the undaunted courage of Nehru to get Sheikh Abdullah dismissed and arrested in 1953 by asking the then Sadar-e-Riyasat Karan Singh to do so. Delhi has been using swords and handcuffs for several years to suppress the voice of dissent in J&K.
Prof. Singh reminded the people that he himself remained under detention for more than eight years, detained 54 times and released by the orders of the Supreme Court almost every time. Only because he stood for the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution of India and amendment in Article 370 so that the people of J&K could also share and enjoy the fruits of democracy which the citizens of this country have been enjoying for 64 years.
Prof. Bhim Singh accused the entire leadership in the Centre, may it be, Congress, BJP or Communists for abetting, aiding and assisting the communal, corrupt and anti-India leadership in J&K so that J&K burns and the leaders in Delhi shall cheer and share all the loot by Kashmiri leaders.
