JAMMU, Nov 15: Charging the Congress of exploiting the Scheduled Castes for decades, BJP Anusuchit Jaati Morcha National general secretary Ramesh Chandra Rattan today said that even Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was repeatedly ignored by the Congress.
Addressing media persons here today along with BJP State spokesperson & State Election Media Incharge, Arun Kumar Gupta, State spokesperson Sunil Sethi, Anusuchit Jaati Morcha State President Surinder Bhagat and Morcha State Prabhari N.D. Rajwal, he said Congress also ignored the contribution of Dr Ambedkar to society and nation as a whole.
Ramesh Chandra, , said that Dr. Ambedkar, the Architect of Indian Constitution was never honoured by Party for his contribution to the nation. During first Lok Sabha elections Congress worked towards getting Dr. Ambedkar defeated from Bombay. The same Congress worked for his defeat during 1953 by election from Bhandara Constituency.
Ramesh Chandra said that a number of persons were decorated with Bharat Ratan by successive Congress Governments but a SC as genius as Dr. Ambedkar was, never treated suitable for such an honour.
Terming BJP as only political party which from very beginning has been treating SCs as equal as others, he said that BJP supported V.P. Singh Government to bestow the Bharat Ratan Award on Ambedkar. The portrait of Dr. Ambedkar was also fixed in the Parliament galaxy during this period.
The respect for Dr. Ambedkar in the scheme of things of BJP can be well judged from the fact that during NDA rule, Mau-the birth place of Dr. Ambedkar- was beautified and renovated and named as Ambedkar Nagar, Deesha Bhoomi, where Dr. Ambedkar embraced Budhisam, was also beautified by BJP Coalition Government of Maharashtra, Similarly, the BJP-led NDA paid rupees 16 crore to get vacated 26-Ali Pur Road bungalow, where Dr. Ambedkar had his last breathe, to set up an international level Memorial in memory of Dr. Ambedkar.
It is only BJP which deserves the votes of SCs and the members of this community also displayed their pledge during the recently held assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana. The same wave now is witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir, where the SC voters want to get rid of mis-governance, corruption, dynasty rule and want to bring in BJP as they are yearning for a Government which has concern for the down-trodden and respect for their leaders, said Ramesh Chandra.
