Cong activists stage protest demonstration at Talab Tillo

JAMMU, July 31: Congress activists today held protest demonstration  at Talab Tillo against the State Government for shortage of ration, denial of sugar to 45 lakh rationees  and acute shortage of water and long power curtailments in Jammu city.
The Congress workers led by organizing secretary, Pradesh Congress Sanjeev Sharma assembled on Talab Tillo road and held protest demonstration during the day today. They were shouting slogans against the BJP-PDP Government.  They resented sharp hike in the price of  BPL sugar from Rs 13.50 to Rs 25 per kg and also stoppage of levy sugar for NPPH category consumers.
They were also protesting against the PHE and PDD authorities  for water and power crisis in the city. They alleged that water supply to the city areas has been badly hit for the last several weeks while frequent unscheduled cuts are imposed on electricity  supply,  adding sufferings of the people.  They alleged that BJP leaders from Jammu have betrayed the people of this region and they will face the heat during coming Assembly elections. They said in coming days, the Congress activists would conduct `Gherao’  of  BJP MLAs and MPs from Jammu.
Prominent among  others who accompanied were-Pt  Vishwanath, Naresh Kumar, Ramesh Chander, Pappu Sharma, Arvind Sharma, Sunil Kumar,  Vijay Gupta, Suresh Gupta, Kuldeep Singh, Jyoti Gupta Nikhil Manhas, Ajay Kumar and Arun Kotwal.
