VIJAYPUR, Aug 7: To lodge protest against BJP-led NDA Government for its failure to check the increasing prices of essential commodities and addressing the vital issues of unemployed as well as refugees, Congress activists held a demonstration at Gurha Morh, here today.
Led by senior Congress leader Arun Sharma, the protesters raised slogans against the Modi Government and BJP.
While addressing the protest demonstration, Arun Kumar accused the BJP of misleading people by making false promises. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought `Acche Din’ only for the rich who are becoming richer under NDA rule while poor and commoner were being ignored.
The Congress leader cautioned people from BJP, which was once again trying its best to befool the people of Jammu and Kashmir where Assembly elections are approaching nearer. Claiming that only Congress can assure all round development of Jammu and Kashmir, he predicted that the party would form next Government in J&K on its own and Ghulam Nabi Azad will the Chief Minister.
Exhorting the new entrants in the party, who joined Congress on the occasion, Arun Sharma asked them to work hard for strengthening party in Vijaypur constituency and take up the issues of common people.
Others who addressed the protest demonstration, included Th Bishamber Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Ram Murti, Onkar Singh, Baisakhi Ram, Som Sharma, Dinesh Singh, Rattan Singh, Sardari Lal Verma and Capt Baldev Raj.
