JAMMU, Aug 18: The Advisory Committee meeting of the two day National Conference and Exhibition on “Emerging and Innovative trends in Engineering Technology (NCEEITET-15),” being organized by Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu on 48th Engineers’ Day on September 15 and 16 was held here today.
The meeting was attended SK Sharma, Executive Director, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Dr Sameru Sharma, Principal GCET, Dr Rakesh Vaid, Chairman IETE, Jammu Centre, Dr Praveen Lehana, Secretary, IETE, Jammu Centre, Dr Sumeet Gupta of SMVDU, Katra besides conveners of the conference Dr Bhawana Sharma, Sheetal Gandotra and Rajiv Bali.
All the activities for organizing the event were discussed threadbare and decisions on their implementation were taken.
Principal GCET Dr Sameru Sharma highlighted the aim of organizing such a national level technological driven event. She elaborated that the conference aims to provide a common interactive platform to the engineering students, academicians, researchers and the industry professionals to share knowledge and exchange the innovative ideas in their respective fields. The two day conference will have technical parallel sessions spread over two days besides the invited and planetary talks by eminent scholars and resource persons. In addition, a two days Exhibition is also being held on the same dates at GCET Campus, Jammu where the students of various prestigious Engineering Institutes from India are being invited to display their working models and projects who will also get an opportunity to interact with the industry professionals from reputed industry and CPSUs who will also display their exhibits, achievements and products during the event.
SK Sharma, Executive Director, Powergrid impressed upon the organizers to involve more reputed industries of private sector in the event so that more exposure should be given to the students in the institution.
