Conference on ‘Contemporary Trends in Humanities & Social Sciences’ begins at SMVDU

KATRA, Jan 20: Two- day national conference on “Contemporary Trends in Humanities and Social Sciences” began today at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVD), Katra.
The conference has been organised by the School of Languages and Literature to promote use of Social Sciences and Humanities; Language Policy and English Literature, Interaction between literary, Linguistic and Social Science theories; Stylistics and English Language Teaching.
The inaugural session was graced with the presence of Padmashree Prof R K Sinha, Vice Chancellor of the university, who addressed the participants and congratulated Dr Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi, Coordinator, Dr Isha Malhotra and Dr Anurag Kumar, conveners of the conference, for organising such a wonderful event.
The keynote was delivered by Prof Rajneesh Arora, Director, English and Foreign Language University, Lucknow Campus.
Also, Prof D Mukhopadhyay, Dean FOHSS, highlighted the significance of organising such events to provide platform to enthusiastic faculty members and research scholars for sharing their research ideas. Participants from various parts of India like Meghalaya, West Bengal, New Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir are attending the conference. Dr Isha Malhotra proposed the vote of thanks.
