Conduct tests of arriving people at their home districts: Mankotia

UDHAMPUR, May 11: Reacting upon the arrival of trains carrying stranded people at Railway Station here, NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia said majority of stranded persons returning to their home districts are subjected to sample testing in Udhampur which can put the health of our frontline workers at greater risk.
In a statement issued here, the former MLA expressed his resentment over the decision. He urged the Government to review the decision of collecting the sample of all the stranded persons at here and demanded to conduct the sample testing of the arriving people at their respective home districts.
He further said that NPP had strongly raised the issue of stranded people and also staged protest dharna for their early evacuation. “Couple of weeks back, he introduced a helpline number for the stranded persons and till date more than 3000 contacts have been forwarded to the administration as received,” he said.
