Concern over reduction of ration quota to migrants

JAMMU, Oct 14: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee (DNWC) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of its president Roshan Lal Raina discussed various problems of migrants in general and residents of Durga Nagar in particular.
The meeting expressed concern that the Government has reduced the quota of ration provided to migrant employees and pensioners from 20 kg rice, 10 kg flour and one Kg sugar to one kg rice and four kg flour only.
The meeting said it is surprising to know that how a one kg of rice and four kgs of flour can suffice to feed a family for one month.
Terming it a mockery, the meeting said Government should issue ration to the migrant employees and pensioners on old scale. It also sought the intervention of concerned minister in the matter.
The meeting made and appeal to Chief Engineer PHE to make the sump tank and storage tank functional and leakage s in the PHE pipes be plugged. It also demanded black topping of the local roads and lanes in Durga Nagar and completion of pending tile work in the area.
