KISHTWAR, Mar 31: The civil society of Kishtwar has expressed grave concern over increasing power cuts in the town and other parts of the district and alleged that even during the holy Navratra festival the authorities have failed to maintain regular power supply in the area.
In a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Shamsher Singh Bhandari the member of the Civil Society and former secretary State Youth Congress an appeal was made to authorities of PDD to decrease the scheduled power cuts as people are facing problems.
The meeting in an appeal to NHPC authorities also demanded installation of flood lights from Hasti Morh to Kuleed Chowk for smooth movement during the night hours. It also demanded construction of parking slots from Bus Stand to Kuleed Chowk to avert frequent traffic jams and filling up of vacant posts of doctors and para medical staff in Kishtwar district Hospital where the various posts of doctors and para medical staff is vacant due to which people are facing hardships.
The meeting also demanded four lanning of Batote to Kishtwar road which is in dilapidated condition and remains often closed due to land slides and shooting stones.
