KISHTWAR, Dec 19: Expressing serious concern over scarcity of drinking water in Kishtwar district and long duration power curtailment, the civil society activist, Shamsher Singh Bhandari today criticized the Government for its failure in solving these problems.
In a statement issued here, today, he said that despite the issue was taken up with the administration and officers of the concerned departments no attention was paid to solve them. He said people in this winter season are to make suffer due to increasing power curtailment and despite the two power projects constructed in erstwhile Doda district the people face acute crisis.
He also said that the people in Kishtwar in general and rural belt of the district in particular were facing acute water crisis also and in some villages the women had to travel a long distance by foot to fetch water in this cold season.
He urged the authorities of concerned departments to look into these issues immediately to provide a succor to the people of the district.
