JAMMU, Oct 17: The inhabitants of Lane A -3 Upper Shiv Nagar have expressed concern over the insanitation in the area and alleged that an abandoned plot of land in the locality has become a breeding ground for insects, mosquitoes and other bacteria to create health hazards in the area.
In a statement issued here, today the people said that long grass has grown in this plot of land and entire garbage is also dumped over there which has crated a public nuisance and there is every apprehension about the spread of epidemic in case the area was not cleaned immediately.
In an appeal to JMC Commissioner, Kiran Wattal the inhabitants sought his personnel intervention in the matter and urged him to issue instructions to the subordinate officers to launch cleanliness drive in the area.
Meanwhile the inhabitants of Gole Gujral near Revenue complex have also expressed grave concern over the prevailing insanitation in the area and alleged that the dung and urine of cattle and buffalos which are being reared there has added to health hazards.
The residents also demanded that the cleanliness drive be launched in the area and spraying be made in the water cesspools along Tawi bank to prevent the spread of dreaded Dingo.
