JAMMU, Apr 15: Expressing concern over delay in issuance of Migrant ration slips/coupons for the year 2022 -2023, the various Kashmiri Pandit social activists have sought the immediate intervention of higher authorities in the matter.
In their separate statements Sunil Pandita from Jagti and Vinod Pandita from non camp said that the migrant relief holders are facing many hardships in delaying tactics adoptee by the authorities in issuance of ration coupons. They said as per routine the ration coupons were issued by March every year so that the migrant relief holders don’t face hardships in getting ration on time. But this year even now the ration slips are not being issued to relief holders who are facing many hardships.
They said that there are many relief holders who are unable to purchase the ration from market as they have no source of income except the cash doles being provided by the Government. They demanded that the Relief organisation should take immediate steps in issuing ration coupons so that the people dependent on cash relief are not put to further hardships.
They also criticised the decision of asking the migrants putting up in other states of the country to report the Relief Organisation in seeking the ration coupons which is totally impracticable and a cumbersome process. They demanded that the matter be looked into in the larger interests of such families.
