JAMMU, Dec 24: Former Deputy Chief Minister & senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta today said that a comprehensive development plan is underway in Gandhi Nagar constituency to meet the basic development needs of inhabitants of the area with special thrust being laid on construction of lanes, drains, Paccapaths, best drainage facilities and toilet complexes to strengthen the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Gupta said this while addressing gathering of inhabitants ofBahu area and the BJP workers after kick starting lane & drain work being executed by JMC at an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh. Gupta was accompanied by Rajeev Charak, State vice president BJP; Vinay Gupta, district president BJP Jammu, Sharda Devi, Councillor, Vivek Patyal, Sunny Sangotra besides local residents and many social as well as political activists of the area.
Gupta said that Modi Government has started a new phase of development in the J&K especially in under developed areas. He said that number of road macadamization and up-gradation works have been taken up with special thrust on the use of quality material. He said that “We are making strenuous efforts to improve infrastructural edifice in all development sectors” which is being witnessed on ground.
Upgradation of interior lanes & drains of the Ward-47 was a long pending demand of the local residents, which is necessity of the hour to strengthen Swachh Bharat Mission to improve the sanitation system in the Ward, Gupta said. He also claimed that no Ward of Gandhi Nagar is left behind in terms of development and it can be seen from the works being done in various areas of the constituency.
Gupta said that BJP has delivered on the ground by always remaining on the fore front. He said that Jammu has witnessed unprecedented growth and that becomes more important when Jammu lagged behind on every front for decades together owing to the wrong policies by previous Government, he added.
Gupta said as committed during previous elections he had been successful in getting the deep drain worth Rs 13 crore constructed from Qasim Nagar-Sheikh Nagar to Kalika Colony which was constructed earlier also but due to low quality material used during previous Congress- NC regime, it collapsed. Further he said that macamadization of road from Police Station to Qasim Nagar has also been completed besides the improvement in the power supply and water supply schemes. Gupta said his doors are always open for the residents of the Constituency for getting the problems related to any issue resolved.
