Complex orthopedic surgery done in Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, Nov 19: A complex orthopedic surgery on a patient has been done in Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar in Jammu.
“A 45-year-old patient suffered from complex polytrauma two years back with injury to his legs, hand and abdomen. The patient was taken outside the state for treatment but he had series of unsuccessful surgeries and henceforth suffered complex non-union of both the legs. He was unable to walk for last two years and was using calipers and walker for household ambulation,” a handout issued by the Hospital said.
The handout mentioned that hearing the success stories of various orthopedic patients, the patient decided to get himself treated in Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, where he underwent series of complex surgeries with advanced instrumentation and after one and a half month post surgery, he is able to bear his weight fully and walk independently though doctors have advised him to use walker for next few months till his bones are fully healed.
“The surgery was performed by Dr Kanav Padha, Consultant Orthopedics, Joint Replacement Surgeon of the Hospital,” the handout read and added “doctors of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar are performing many complex surgeries including knee replacements in the Hospital.
Dr Surinder Kour, Dr Laughi and theatre technicians-Rakesh Bakshi and Jaswinder Singh assisted Dr Kanav Padha in performing this complex surgery.
